Before we begin teaching in the new millenium, let us revisit the foundations of our discipline and reexamine what constants substantiate our own curriculum, evaluating what has worked in the past and what still works. Let us consider what innovations have potential for building on these constants. Then let us meet in Tulsa in October of 1999 to discuss theoretical-based practices that time has honed sharp. TYCA members, please take a little time to nominate one of your deserving colleagues
for the Excellence in Teaching Award this year. You know how it feels to be acknowledged
by your peers for a job well done. Don't fail to do the same for someone else.
Do it now before you get swamped by end-of-semester responsibilities.
Nomination materials include the following:
Letter of nomination (one-page maximum)
Nominee's curriculum vitae/resume (two pages maximum)
Supporting letters from at least two of the following:immediate supervisor
colleague
studentOptional: (a) comments from student evaluations (b) documents showing the nominee's commitment to teaching, such as published articles by or about the nominee
