Call for Conference Papers

Presentations
We encourage individual presentations, small group panel discussions, and/or round-table workshops on the foundations of the classroom that remain and will remain staples of our profession. What teaching assignments evoke honest, meaningful responses? How do we encourage students to revise, not just retype papers? How do we engage students within and outside of the classroom setting? How do we inspire our students to become lifelong learners?

Creative Papers
One constant in a sea of change is the high quality of literary work by TYCA members throughout our region. Join us in celebrating the power of creative writing through readings of your poetry, creative nonfiction, or fiction.

You may submit any or all of the following for consideration:

Please enclose a brief biography, including your name, school, and other details that would enhance an appreciation for your work, with all creative submissions.

Submission Guidelines
TYCA members and non-members are invited to submit proposals although all presenters must be members of TYCA before the time of the conference. We also encourage volunteer moderators for all sessions.

Please send a 50-75 word abstract of all proposed discussions in addition to a description of the type of presentation (individual, panel, round table), the names of all presenters, schools and addresses, and a list of any audio-visual equipment needed.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, 4 June 1999. You will be notified no later than Monday, 2 August 1999, if your proposal has been accepted. Membership and conference fees ($85 total) may be paid upon acceptance of proposal, but no later than 1 September.
